Durango Fly Company is a group of Fort Lewis College alumni with planted roots in Durango. We tie the flies. The patterns we love here aren't always stocked in the bins. Local bugs, local sizes, tied for the water we all fish. What's in the shop is what's in our own boxes. The local reports are posted by one of our anglers.
Trout Bot is our fishing assistant, and we built it because the question we get most is where to go this weekend. It reads the live gauges on the rivers, creeks, and reservoirs around Durango, the weather forecast, and our local reports, then tells you what to tie on, when to go, and what to expect. Log a trip and it will tell you what went wrong on a slow day. It never names a spot more specifically than our reports do, on purpose. Anyone with an account can try it, and subscribers get it every day of the season.
In the early years of fishing the Southwest, local expertise from the shop was candid when planning the next outing. As we explored more water, so did our fly boxes. Our passion for the calling of the river is what we hope we share with you. Our local reports, flies, and experience will help guide you through everything the Southwest has to offer.
